Cromwell House, Buildner Beyond Isolation: Senior Housing Architecture Competition, Shortlisted from over 100 international entries 2024:

Cromwell House is a Community Complex in Winchester for 50 senior people aged 55 and above. Located within easy reach of the city centre and all necessary amenities, the proposals provide high quality affordable and sustainable homes and a community hub with a variety of mixed use spaces to bring residents and the local community together to avoid isolation.

The proposals re-purpose two existing buildings on the site with a change of use from office accommodation to housing and community spaces to deal with three key challenges: Loneliness, Ageing population and the Cost of Living Crisis.
